The first Hennessy XO Cognac was produced in 1888, and this sublime specimen is a very old version of the famous Hennessy XO cognac in a traditional cognac bottle. The iconic decanter featuring a bunch of grapes designed by Gerald de Geoffre de Chabrignac began in 1947.
The paper closure indicates it was produced during or just after WWII. They used paper instead of lead or metal foil due to war shortages
At the bottom of the label, it is mentioned that this XO cognac is over 45 years old.
