Martell Cordon Argent was created in the 1920s with the goal of becoming their most prestigious cognac in the range. It wasn't until 1933 that the name Cordon Argent was actually used. The Martell Cordon Argent trademark application was filed in 1951.
The bottles from the 1930s and 1940s have a more robust appearance and show visible irregularities at the base, as seen in the photos, which gives them a captivating charm.
It's clear that the liquid inside was distilled in the 19th century, nearly 150 years ago. The silver wax emblem seal indicates it's aged 60 years, which was interrupted in 1940.
The sealing and closure are ensured by a clip capsule, which began in the 1940s.
This is a rare item with its replacement cork and original box from the era.
