This cognac owes its exceptional finesse to a meticulously selected blend by Mr. Denieul and Mr. Dor: very old eaux-de-vie from Grande Champagne (80%) and aged Fins Bois (20%). This exceptional reserve, due to its advanced age and outstanding qualities, is limited to just a few demijohns.
Réserve No. 9 was bottled in wax-sealed demijohns after naturally reaching the legal minimum of 40% alcohol by evaporation. After over 50 years in oak barrels, it has developed complex mushroom aromas and a characteristic "rancio" flavor highly sought after by connoisseurs.
In 1858, Amédée Edouard Dor, descendant of an old Cognac family, realized his dream by founding Maison A.E. DOR. Today, it remains one of the most prestigious Cognac houses, producing exceptional cognacs.
