In 1840, Pierre Landreau began cultivating vines at La Métairie, near Criteuil-la-Magdeleine. His grandson, Émile, started producing cognac in the 1920s and expanded the property.
In 1959, the family, led by Pierre, one of Émile’s sons, purchased the Logis de Montifaud in Salles d’Angles, while Paul, his other son, continued the business in Criteuil. Today, Christian Landreau manages the Logis de Montifaud, which includes 17 hectares of vineyards, where they carry out their own distillation.
Production ceased on January 1, 2020.
