The Samalens House, founded in 1882 by Jean Samalens, remains under the ownership of the Samalens family. The current generation is represented by Pierre, the son of Georges Samalens. Located in Laujuzan, at the heart of the vineyards and oak forests, the house is situated in the Bas Armagnac region, renowned for producing some of the finest Armagnac.
In the 1980s, the Samalens House offered a magnum bottle of its VSOP Armagnac. The grapes used for this Armagnac come exclusively from the designated Bas Armagnac region, ensuring exceptional quality.
The Samalens distillery is the largest in the area, featuring eight stills, some of which date back to the 19th century. The stock of the Samalens House is one of the largest in the Armagnac region, representing the quality of Bas Armagnac, with old reserves, including vintages like 1888. This magnum VSOP bottle from the 1980s embodies the heritage and craftsmanship of a family-owned house.
